| From my first workday! |
We're two crazy Danish girls, we write about our lives, our thoughts and stuff... We're both very nerdy, and proud to be so! Sille is quiet and calm, liked by most, and loved greatly by friends. She is a true Hufflepuff! Sid is energetic and spontaneous, (unless it's Wednesday). She is a weird Ravenclaw!

Sidsel's week in Northern Ireland (and a tiny bit other places)
This is maybe more a blog written for me to remember my amazing week in Northern Ireland where I was visiting my long-distance-boyfriend Chris.
And Chris was waiting for me in the airport, and as the lovely boyfriend he is, he'd dressed up fancy in a suit and everything, and then we had a two hour drive (we laughed and ate M&M's all the way), after which I was introduced to Chris parents (who later that night got dressed up all fancy, and we drove them to a murder mystery party - a trip where Chris' dad sat in the back seat pretended to be "a German archaeologist" and claiming that the left side of the road was the correct side to drive in...) Chris and I spend the afternoon watching a terrible Batman movie, it was so terrible it became hilarious, we pretty much spend the evening cuddling and watching television (British television is just way better than Danish television), actually we pretty much spend every evening like that.
Sunday was a slightly lazy day, we did go on an adventure in a supermarket where I was shocked by the amount unhealthy stuff you can buy in British supermarket, where we ended up buying more M&M's actually there wasn't a day in the week where we didn't eat those, we ended up calling them Mmmmmm'n'Mmmmms!
Monday we went down to Belfast where Chris else from showing me his favourite nerd-shop took me to the Victoria Square, and we did a bit of dandering around Belfast, dandering around is one of biggest talents.
On Tuesday we went Groomsport, which is a beach-area near where Chris lives, we brought Chris' dog with us and dandered around the beach for a while, I collected a few stones that are currently lying on my desk. Tuesday night we went out on a date, we ate at a New Orleans themed restaurant the food was really good but we decided that we'd make dessert at home, we made the most deliciously digusting dessert, we had earlier that day made M&M-pancakes, and we had some pancake-batter left, we made pancakes and ate them with Ben and Jerry's ice-cream and M&M's.
Wednesday morning Chris had to do Skype-calls with his teacher, I slept most of the time while he did schoolwork, and when he was done Chris needed a nap, so he napped while I tumblered on my phone, Chris woke up after a bit and we watched Brainscoop and Chris decided that dead wo´lf looks rather delicious, which I decided not to comment on, after lazying in bed for a while we ate really late breakfast and spend the rest of the day being a bit lazy, and then went to the cinema in the evening, where we watched Django Unchained, we had a lot of fun, but the heat seemed to have been turned all the way up, so it got really warm and Chris giggled at me when he found out that I'd taken one of my boots of to cool down a bit.
We spend Valentines Day, Thursday, going to the Ulster Museum in Belfast, which to me seem like the perfect date, Chris got overlt dramatic when we read about the Vikings raids in Ireland and Northern Ireland, but he couldn't keep a straight face very long when I played along. We looked at all the animals and might have spend a really long time "awwwwing" at animals, and we fell in love with a leatherback turtle (and learned that they are quite a lot bigger than we thought they'd be), we went for lunch at a Subway and dandered around Belfast for a bit, we ended up like a soon-to-be-married looking at rings, it took us a while to realise how weird we were being. We went home when Chris feet started hurting (poor baby), we accidentially scared a kid away on the trainride home. That evening Chris cooked tuna-steaks for us (he even allowed me to help him a bit), after dinner we went to buy eggs and M&M's because we wanted to make pancakes again, but this time we found blue food colouring in the cabinet and decided to have some fun with it.
Friday we went for a dander around Bangor (which is the town Chris lives in) we walked around a park and looked at pretty birds, then we went for lunch and in the afternoon Chris had to meet with a woman about some school stuff, and I went a long with my book and sat there reading while Chris was all seriousface with his school stuff in the evening Chris and I went for indian food, which we ate in front of the television, enjoying a bit of quiet time before his brother (who'd come home from New Zealand Thursday morning) came home from the airport where he'd picked up their sister, and then there was no more quiet, I was surprised to learn that Chris might be the silent one in his family.
We decided not to go to bed that evening and ended up napping a bit on the sofa, and two we got up to get ready, a little to three we got into the car and drove to the airport where after a difficult goodbye I got on a plane twenty past seven, I travelled home via plane, train, bus and then some walking, were I came home to an empty house, I napped a bit and have now written all I feel like writing about my week.
My week with Chris was amazing, I love spending time with him, we can be silly about Mmmmm'n'Mmmmms and do silly things in public, we can be serious and talk about our future for hours. I've never felt this right with someone, I love him so very much.
And now after pouring my emotions on you aswell, I'm off to eat a bit...

Holiday, hurrah!
Finally
Sidsel and I are off for a short vacation – and I really need it! The last
couple of days we’ve been working on our SROs though we wrote about different
topics. To be honest I got no glue of what she wrote about… All I know is that I
spent Tuesday till Thursday with Camilla and we ate heaps of chocolate and cake
and we sang along to several Disney songs included the soundtrack from Grease.
Oh yeah, we did write our 6-8 pages long assignment also. Anyway I think this
blog will be short too and mainly about random stuff I just come on with. At the
moment I’m in a summerhouse and I stole my dad’s computer since that’s the only
one with internet connection over here (“over here” is BlĂ„vand, a town in the
western part of Jutland). Let me see,
what else… Oh yes, I’m counting the shifts I have left at work now I’m getting
really tired of it and I’m so glad it’s soon over. I also managed to get them
to hire my brother when I leave, so when I walk around at home – eating chocolate
– it’ll be my brother complaining about silly customers, weird groceries and a
stupid recycle machine. Also, I was working yesterday and I met a new colleague
of mine and he was SO adorable. Sometimes I get this feeling of just wanting to
hug someone because they look so cute and that was the exact feeling I had when
I met the new guy. He wasn’t very tall though and he wore a pair of glasses
which were very hipster-like. Either way I taught him that he could eat all the
cake he wanted to when the supermarket closes and that sitting at the check-out
sucks. Mission accomplished!
That’ll be all for now I better give my brother a chance to use the computer – maybe I’ll be writing next week’s blog as well since my Sidsel is visiting Chris (aka Q from James Bond) but I’ll only do it if I remember it. Over and out!

a quick update...
This is going to be short and quite late blog, this past week has just been busy and chaotic, I decided to get a serious case of the flu, and spend the first three days of the week in bed coughing and blowing my nose, the rest of the week was spend writing assignments and napping whenever I had time.
This week we have to write my SRO, which is some assignment stuff, and then on Friday I'm getting on a train, and then a plane Saturday morning, and when my plane lands in Dublin, there'll be an amazing guy waiting for me in the airport, and I'll get to spend a week in his company.
I know this is really really short, but I'm just a bit stressed out this week, and I'm probably not going to write next week, seeing as I'll be in Northern Ireland all week...

”You never get too old for Disney!”
I often say
to my mom: “You never get too old for Disney!” and every time she just shakes
her head and says something like: “You’re so childish”. But I really believe
this to be true, if you love Disney you can never be too old or gray to watch
it. Therefore I’ve decided to make my very own top 11 named “My favourite
Disney movies” - but you, my reader, have to keep in mind that this list isn’t
permanent and it’ll probably look different tomorrow. Anyway-doctor, let’s start!
Nr. 11 - Aristocats
My brother
loves this film, but he never had the patience to watch all of it (okay maybe
once). Therefore I’ve seen this a thousand times and it deserves a place on my
top 11. Besides the cats play jazz and as you know, everybody wants to be a
cat!
Nr. 10 - Pocahontas
I’ve pretty
much chosen this film because of the song “Colours of the Wind” and the raccoon
(and the hummingbird). Though I’m disappointed that she never got John - never
watch Pocahontas II, kids, never!
Nr. 9 - Lady and the Tramp
Yeah most
of the reasons why I’ve chosen these films will be because of the music. In
this masterpiece we’ll found “Bella Notte”, heaps of dogs and a very scary
dog-catcher.
Nr. 8 - Brother Bear
I think
this film is one of the newest on my list and I have to say it’s a bit weird.
But I like how people who (sadly) die are transformed into animals, symbolizing
their souls. Yeah something like that - I love this film it’s hard to explain
why.
Nr. 7 - Cinderella
The mice
are great - they can freaking sing and make a dress! That totally deserves a
place on the list - and maybe I like that “Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo”-song a bit too
much…
Nr. 6 - Lilo & Stitch
Lilo adores
Elvis (which I do too!) and then there’re aliens involved. Stitch is so fluffy
it sometimes hurts my eyes and I really like the story. I never understood
though what happened to Lilo’s parents. Maybe I missed something or I just have
to watch it again…
Nr. 5 - Beauty & the Beast
Oh Gaston,
your ego made this film nominated to an Oscar or something and I’m forever
thankful. I’ve always liked the idea that Belle could love the beast even
though he looked so evil. They speak French as well which (for a kid like me)
was very amusing - and then the chair was alive. Pretty epic.
Nr. 4 - Finding Nemo
The beginning of this movie is so sad (as many other Disney films) but it doesn’t make it bad
- and it’s impossible for me to not love a film with a character like Dory and
vegetarian sharks. Oh and did I mention the turtles? Turtles rules.
Nr. 3 - Mulan
Mulan must
be the greatest role model Disney has made. She saves the entire China and gets
the half gay guy in the end, who by the way, couldn’t see that she was a woman.
Her horse is also pretty epic (and Mushu) but no grandmother is going to as
cool as Mulan’s.
Nr. 2 - The Lion King
The opening
intro to The Lion King is the best. Ever. No matter what you say. I’m
entertained, amazed and able to sing along to every word sung in English and
the story is great - and who haven’t heard of “Hakuna Matata” and “Can You Feel
the Love Tonight?” So, I think this film deserve it’s opening here. Oh yes
indeed.
Nr. 1 - The Little Mermaid
It doesn’t
come as a surprise for those people who know me that The Little Mermaid is at
the top. It’s my absolute favourite Disney movie of all time and it can’t be
changed. I love songs, environment (Under the Sea!) and the main character Ariel
who never gives up. I’ve loved since the first time I saw it and even though it
doesn’t look anything like the story it’s based on I still adore it.
That’d be
my top 11. The reasons why I’ve put in this order may seem very silly but that’s
just my opinion and I can’t really describe it. Therefore I only have left to
say: “Oh, look at me. I’m gonna go touch the butt!” (From Finding Nemo).

Home
I started thinking to myself; what is "home" and I thought I'd try to give my answer in this week's blog.
I know I've talked about the tastes and smells of my childhood before, and "home" to me is somewhat like that.
When I think of home I think of the smell of bread fresh out of the oven, it's my mom asking my if I want a warm slice with butter, home is eating that slice of bread while my brothers tease each other.
Home is hot chocolate in the afternoon on a snowy Monday, it's my mom asking about my day and then tell a long and silly story about her day, that typically involve her doing something silly, like the time she dressed up as a ghost and scaring the children in the kindergarten she works in (I am not kidding, this actually happened, my mom is not "a little silly" she's bordering on insane (not really, but you know))
Home to me is a fridge where to bottom drawer is always filled with chocolate, and there's candy hidden all over the house, and under the seats in the car.
It's tea waiting for me when I get up in the morning
Home is an orderly desk, with my computer and current project waiting for me, it's my bed with it's colourful bedsheets, home is the book lying there next to the bed, just waiting to be read.
But when I google "home" the first suggestion google has is "home is where the heart is", which is a saying that always confuse me a bit, because of course me heart is in my chest, that is where it's supposed to be. So is home anywhere I am?
I guess home is anywhere I feel at home, anywhere there's people I can feel at home with. I think most people know the feeling of being at a friend's house where you don't feel at home at all, but I also feel like I can visit some of my friends and feel like I've lived there for years.
I think home is wherever we make it be.

Harry Potter nerds for the win
I love
Harry Potter. No one can ever convince me that the series stinks and that is
has “plot holes” as big as Africa. Therefore I’ll share some random facts about
the universe from Harry Potter, and its creator and master herself, J.K.
Rowling. And I’m not only doing this because I’ll be doing a presentation about
this topic with my friend Camilla in class tomorrow. Anyways, here goes!
(Spoiler alert for those who haven’t read ors seen the films).
In the
first film Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s
Stone there were made 17,000 individually decorated boxes for Ollivander’s Wand
Shop.
In the
second film Harry Potter and the Chamber
of Secrets a ghost named Moaning Myrtle appeared for the first time. The
actor playing her is the oldest actress to play a Hogwarts student since she
was 37 years old.
In the
third book Harry Potter and the Prisoner
of Azkaban Remus Lupin appeared for the first time. His name can be
rearranged to ‘Primus Lune’, which means ‘Full moon’.
In the fourth
film Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire we
all meet Robert Pattinson and we kinda liked him at that point. Later Robert
has openly stated that he would rather play Cedric Diggory, who died in this
film, than Edward Cullen again.
In the
fifth film Harry Potter and the Order of
the Phoenix the character Lavender Brown had been played by an uncredited
black girl, until this film, where she turned white.
In the
sixth film Harry Potter and the
Half-Blood Prince the headmaster, Dumbledore, is killed and at that time he
was around 150 years old.
In the
seventh book Harry Potter and the Deathly
Hallows Hermione tells Harry and Ron that she has never used the spell ‘Obliviate’
before after she used on two Death Eaters, though she did use on her parents in
the begging on the book.
One fact to
each film/book, not bad aye? Oh wait I got more. (Don’t worry I’ll stop soon).
Harry and
Dumbledore are the only wizards to ever have held all three Deathly Hallows in
their hands. The dementors are a reflection of J.K’s depression. It was not in
the manuscript that Voldemort should hug Draco but Ralph Finnes (who played
You-Know-Who) did it under one take, improvising completely, and that one take
ended up in the eighth film. And now the
last one, I promise! One of the reasons why J.K. didn’t kill Hagrid was so he
could carry Harry back to Hogwarts. Hagrid was the one to bring Harry ‘home’ in
the first book (to the Dursley’s) and he was the one to bring Harry home again
in the last book (to Hogwarts).
That’s all
for now I hope you enjoyed it. Potterhead for the win!
